The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state has lost some members to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The defectors were led into the APC by former Education Secretary of Akoko Southwest, Ware Olukayode, The Nation reports.

According to Olukayode, the APC was made attractive to the defectors due to the developmental revolution of the Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led administration in Akoko.

The former education secretary commended the governor for the ongoing project Oka Akoko road rehabilitation.

He said the PDP has become a shadow of itself, adding that it is a party which is no longer acceptable to the people of Akoko.

“We have come to join the winning team. Akeredolu has consolidated on the popularity of the APC in Akoko.

“APC has been winning Akoko for a long time. It is because the party is deep rooted here. We want to join the rest of our people, PDP is no longer a place of abode us.”

In another report, the Oyo state chapter of the APC has said it will formerly welcome former governor of the state Adebayo Alao-Akala and others to the party on Saturday, December 16.

Daily Sun reports that the defectors include former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin; former deputy governor of the state, Amb.

Taofeek Arapaja; former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Ayodele Adigun; the only federal lawmaker elected on the platform of PDP to the House of Representatives, Segun Odebunmi, as well as Rauf Olaniyan, Ayoola Makanjuola, Alhaji Rasaq Gbadegesin and their teeming supporters.

NAIJ.com gathered that Sadare made this known in a statement he issued on Wednesday, December 14.
