Watch dramatic video of robbery of South African cash van in broad daylight




- A video of some robber who made away with huge amount of money after detonating cash vans in South African has been released

- The dramatic incident took place in the commercial centre of Johannesburg, the nation's capital

- Some security experts have claimed that the robbers have military background

Some heavily armed robbers recently blew up two armoured cash-carrying vans in Johannesburg, South Africa's capital in a brazen broad-daylight incident that underscored the country's reputation for violence.

As a cellphone footage revealed, the assailants sealed off a block in the suburb of Boksburg area of Johannesburg’s commercial centre, before calmly detonating explosives under the cash vans, causing load explosions followed by series of gunfire coming from unknown location, South China Morning Post reports.

Numbering more than ten, the suspects then loaded sacks of money into about two getaway cars before zooming off. Motorists caught up in the shoot-out were seen in the video pulling U-turns across the road to escape the scene.

According to the report of police in the area, two security guards in the cash vans were injured in the incident and taken to hospital. The report also revealed that some of the robbers were arrested after being tracked by a search helicopter in an industrial estate.

It has been suggested by security expert on social media that going by the suspects handling of arms used in the operation, they might have some military training.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that the Nigerian community in South Africa had again been thrown into mourning, following the latest extra-judicial killing of a Nigerian in the country.

NAIJ.com gathered that the killing of ThankGod Okoro, 30, from Ogbaku in the Awgu local government area of Enugu state, was the latest in what has been described as recurring premeditated murders of young Nigerians in South Africa.
