Barcelona returned to the summit of the Spanish League table following their 2-0 win over Sevilla at Camp Nou on Saturday, October 20.

Brazil attacker Philippe Coutinho opened scoring for the Catalans after just two minutes of action through a well taken free kick.

Luis Suarez made it three for the hosts in the 63rd minute after beautifully scoring from the spot kick, while Ivan Rakitic's 88th minute strike sealed the win for Barca.

Pablo Sarabia and Luis Muriel scored a goal each for the visitors but their interventions wasn't enough to save the visitors fromtheir third defeat of the season.

Despite enjoying an impressive start to the Champions League season, the Bluagranas have struggled in La Liga this term.

They suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 2-1 to Leganes away from home and have also drawn three of their last eight topflight encounters.

Coach Ernesto Valverde were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Valencia in their last Spanish League meeting but had to bounce back to winning ways and get their title chase back on track.

This win push Barcelona back to the top of the table with 18 points from nine games as they will battle Real Madrid in the first leg of this season's El Clasico at the Camp Nou.

However, their captain and talisman, Lionel Messi may be doubtful for the game after being substituted in this evening's meeting.

He appeared to have broken his arm but the team's doctors will have to check him out to know the extent of the damage.

Barcelona will also travel to Italy next week to battle Inter Milan in their Champions League group encounter.
