APC chief reveals the 3 people behind Dino Melaye’s planned recall

– Gbenga Bright said Dino Melaye has clashed with Babachir Lawal in the course of performing his legistlative duties

– He also revealed that Babachir Lawal and Hameed Ali had a meeting with Governor Yahya Bello to come up with the best way to recall Melaye

Three main people are behind the much-talked about recall of embattled Senator Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state has revealed.

Gbenga Bright was reported as accusing the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, the comptroller-general of the Nigerian Customs Service, Hameed Ali and the Kogi state governor, Yahya Bello of being behind the plot.

The three people are yet to officially deny or confirm the claim.

In a statement issued in Lokoja, Bright said the party is aware of the unholy secret meeting between the Lawal, Ali and Bello.

Bright said Melaye had brilliantly exercised his constitutional legislative function and roles at the Senate and as a result, has been having a battle with Lawal.

“Investigation revealed that the duo were secretly consulted by Kogi state government to seek and use their national influence and clout to influence and support the governor on the ongoing futile recall journey desperately sponsored by Kogi state government.

“Reports of the Senate indicting Babachir for corruption and abuse of office is currently with the acting president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

“While Col Hameed Ali, rtd, Custom CG, was been checkmated and cautioned for non-compliance to rules of engagements and appointment and his total disregard for constituted authorities.

“The unholy meeting between the trio of Governor Yahaya Bello Babachir Lawal and Hameed Ali, was to fashion out how they can muster collective support with a view to influence INEC to their favour, over the purported, fruitless and counterproductive exercise tagged recall against the best Senator of the year, 2016, distinguished Sen Dino Melaye.

“We want to assure Our party leaders, teeming supporters, youths, the good and loyal electorates of Kogi west and the public, that Senator Dino Melaye, is not worried, unshaken by the their satanic gang up against his person,” Bright said.

He expressed optimism that those behind the plot would be exposed.

Days ago, NAIJ.com had reported that some top Nigerians standing for the Yoruba speaking part of Kogi have disowned the signatures collected to recall Senator Dino Melaye.

Under the Okun Development Initiative, a socio-cultural association, the top leaders said the recall was the result of misguided advice.

Those who stood in support of Melaye include former minister for Justice and Attorney General of Federation, Chief Bayo Ojo, Professor Eyitayo Lambo, General David Jemibowon (rtd), Tunde Ipinmisho and General Julius Oshanopin.
