Ajax insist Sameehg Doutie is not for sale

Posted: 2011-06-02 14:29

Ajax Cape Town insist that midfielder Sameehg Doutie is not for sale – for now.

Doutie posted messages on Facebook and Twitter saying that he is no longer interested in playing for the Urban Warriors and is looking forward to playing his football elsewhere next season.

But Ajax CEO George Comitis says at the moment the winger is staying at the club.

Comitis says as soon as Doutie returns from national team duty with the Under-23 squad in Benin this weekend, he is going to sit down with him and have a chat.

“Doutie has had personal problems at home and has been a bit sad and frustrated. He is currently on national duty and I will speak to him when he comes back," Comitis tells

“I know for a fact PSL teams want to buy all my players, and some have shown interest in Doutie.

“In Dutch, they say you can only sell your shoes unless you are sure of finding another pair as a replacement and at this stage Doutie is not for sale.”
