Diafra Sakho reopens talks over £9m move to Rennes

  • West Ham's  Diafra Sakho resumes talks with Rennes over potential £9m move
  • The French side are favourites to secure his signature before the window closes

West Ham striker Diafra Sakho has resumed talks with Rennes over a prospective £9million move.

The French side have been chasing Sakho since the summer but have faced competition in recent weeks from Swansea City and more notably Crystal Palace.

Sakho has barely figured for West Ham citing niggling back injuries but is understood to have grown frustrated over his contract situation which saw him earn a smaller basic wage but greater appearance bonus.

Palace tried again for Sakho last week but he is set on a move to France and could travel to Rennes for a medical on Sunday.

The 28-year-old has featured 14 times for the Hammers so far this season but has only scored twice.

The Hammers have been looking for more cover up top after they made enquiries to bring Graziano Pelle back to the Premier League. 

However, the ex-Southampton striker must take pay-cut on £13.5million salary if he's to return to England from China.
