Bordeaux's sought-after forward Malcom won and converted a disputed penalty as second-placed Lyon suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat in Ligue 1.

The Brazilian - linked with Premier League rivals Tottenham and Arsenal this month - threw himself to the ground inside the box under pressure from Lyon defender Jeremy Morel before putting the hosts 2-0 up with the resulting 27th-minute spot-kick.

Replays showed Morel had made no contact but that did not stop referee Francois Letexier pointing to the spot, five minutes after Bordeaux forward Nicolas De Preville had put the home side ahead.

Lyon bounced back from their misfortune and looked to have given themselves hope for the second half when defender Marcelo halved the deficit a minute before the break.

But Bordeaux, under new manager Gus Poyet, restored their two-goal cushion thanks to a second penalty, scored by Gaetan Laborde in first-half stoppage time, and then held on for victory following Otavio's 76th-minute dismissal for two bookable offences.

Earlier in the day, Edgar Ie scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner as struggling Lille moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 success over Strasbourg.

Portugal defender Ie converted at the near post following a corner a minute into added time to claim his first goal since moving to French football from Belenenses last summer.

Algeria forward Idriss Saadi looked to have earned Strasbourg a point when he quickly cancelled out Anwar El Ghazi's 76th-minute opener but the mid-table visitors were unable to hang on.
