Watford are ready to make a move for Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu as Javi Gracia looks to add Premier League experience to his squad before the end of the January window.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Ernesto Valverde is happy to let the 23-year-old quit the Nou Camp just six months after Barca activated a buy-back clause to sign him fromEverton.

Having impressed during two seasons at Goodison Park, Watford's new manager Gracia is targeting a deal before Wednesday's deadline as he looks to strengthen his options in attack.

Deulofeu burst onto the scene at Everton under Roberto Martinez but fell down the pecking order following the £30million arrival of Yannick Bolasie. He was sent out on loan to AC Milan for six months, and from there moved to Barcelona last summer.

Originally, he was deemed a good stop-gap on the left wing following the shock departure of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, but Barcelona have since filled the Brazilian's shoes with Philippe Coutinho.

As a result, Deulofeu has not started a La Liga match since October and has had to make do with appearances off the bench and time in the Copa del Rey.

No price is mentioned in the report, but it is likely the Spanish club will demand as much of the £10.5m they originally paid to sign him from the Toffees.

Their chance of getting that much will be greatly enhanced if a Premier League club is interested, especially Watford, who could generate significant funds by selling Troy Deeney to West Brom.

The striker was the subject of an £18million bid from the Baggies last week.
