Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool will not replace Philippe Coutinho in the current transfer window.

The Brazilian playmaker joined Barcelona for £145m earlier this month. Without him, Liverpool stunned Manchester City before surprise defeats at the hands of Swansea in the Premier League and West Brom in the FA Cup.

Klopp, however, does not feel Coutinho's departure is linked to their recent slide and will not be rushed into a panic buy.

'Phil Coutinho is not to be replaced in this transfer window,' the German said. 'We can stop thinking about it.' He added that Liverpool's issues of late have been with defence, rather than attack.

'It is not about replacing anyone,' Klopp said. 'It is about using our own opportunities, our own tools, players, tactics and formations.

'Yes, it is right we didn't play well at Swansea but a few days before we played fantastic against Man City. We could have won at Swansea and exactly the same with the last game. It was not about creating chances, it was about different things.

'I don't think Phil would have helped a lot in these situations.'

Klopp takes his fourth-placed men to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

'We have to get immediately back on the winning track,' he acknowledged. 'We need results to reach our targets, we know that, but the solution is not out there in the transfer market in this moment.

'We always have open eyes in situations like that but it is not like there is something out there for us to get because we really think we have to use, first of all, our players.'

Klopp will face old pal David Wagner at the John Smith's Stadium, and vowed to bounce back in West Yorkshire.

'Two weeks ago we had an 18-game unbeaten run and then you lose twice and everything feels different,' he said. 'That's OK because for us it is important you feel it and don't think it is not important.

'They were two really harsh defeats for us and that is good but we need to immediately show up, that's for sure.'

He is expecting a tough evening. 'We need to show we are really ready,' he added. 'Huddersfield is a special place - the whole city fights for the league.

'They don't expect brilliant football, they expect a proper fight and that is what Huddersfield Town is ready to deliver. We need to deliver as well.'
